Welcome to Earth and Health Care Council
The world is facing the greatest devastation in climate change due to the industrial revolution and the over-exploitation of natural resources by man. Industries emit large quantities of green house gases like Methane, Carbon dioxide and nitrogen dioxide. Today, because of these gases, polar ice caps melts and it was raised above the sea level. In the past 30 years, 28 trillion tons of ice caps melts because of global warming. It was declared by a team of scientists with the help of satellites through the poles, mountains and glaciers. As the same way the ice caps melts, at the end of this century the sea level will be raised and the people those who are lived near the sea shore will be suffered and many big cities will sink in sea. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) states that, from 2030 to 2052 the temperature will raise at 1.5 degree Celsius. In the end of this century, if the sea level will be raise, the livelihood and habitat of 10 lakh people will be affected.
In 2015, the United Nation ratified the Paris agreement and proclaimed that, the global warming should be reduced to less than 2 degree Celsius, if it is cannot happen, try maximum to reduce 1.5 degree Celsius at the end of this century. For the purpose of sustainable growth, they set 17 goals. In 17 goals, one of the goal is climate and considers that and released agenda 2030 and advising our country to formulate the policies accordingly. Protecting and improving the environment is not only an obligation of our Government of India under Article 48 (A) of the Constitution of India but also of each of us as citizens of India under Article 51A (g) of the Constitution.
What are the duties of each of us to escape the great danger posed by climate change?
1. As we are individuals, we should replace renewable energy-powered vehicles with renewable-energy electric vehicles.
2. We can use bicycles as in the custom of other countries.
3. Don’t throw the plastic bags and papers in streets, instead of this put it in the recycle waste box.
4. Let every individual plant trees as much as possible.
Government Duties:
1. To prevent the establishment of factories in forest areas.
2. Give subsidy to renewable energy product factories and encourage the people those who use it.
3. Factories emitting excess greenhouse gases should be compelled to use new technologies to control them and, if it is not possible, to enforce the rules and compell them to plant trees to compensate for them.
4. In total land area, planted trees in 40% of the land area and make the forest.
5. The government can travel by setting up new strategies to set up. The government should try to incorporate curricula in schools so that the importance and duty of sustainable development and environmental protection are realized from childhood.
