HAZARDS OF LABEL INSIDE SNACKS PACK
Some companies produce snacks and pack their snacks in plastic bags and the paper which mentions the name of the company, quality, expiry date and other information is pasted on the top of the plastic bags. Instead of this, they put this paper inside along with the snacks. Due to this, some chemicals exist from the ink which is printed in paper. The chemicals like naphthalene, hydrocarbon, carium, chromium and artificial colours which is used for food processing is sticking the food and cause various diseases. Doctors declared that, like plastic, the food which is mixed with ink printed label is also dangerous. According to section 29 and 30 of the Food Safety and Standardization Act 2006, it is responsibility of manufacturer and sellers to manufacture the food products without toxic and adulteration. According to clauses 10 and 11 of section 3 of the Food Safety and Standard Package Regulation 2018, the manufacturer and sellers making sure that the ink printed label is not inside with the package of food products. According to clause 8 of section 4 of Safety and Standards (labelling and display) Regulation 2020, manufacturer and sellers making sure that the information about the note of food products is clearly printed in the outside of package for consumers. If manufacturer violating such laws and regulations they are fined of Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 5 lakhs under section 51 and 54 of the Food Safety and Standardization Act 2006, and imprisonment for 7 years under section 59, and fined of Rs. 1000 and imprisonment for 6 months under section 272 and 273 of the Indian Penal Code. However, the manufacturers are irresponsible and did not follow the rules and the government officials also not investigate the manufactures and not doing their duty properly.
